Easter Seals Drop Zone 2011

Every year the Easter Seals puts on an a really cool event called the Drop Zone to raise money for people with disabilities and special needs.  This year I was so excited to be able participate and take photos of the superhero’s as they made their way down the side of Sun Life Plaza.  The team from Easter Seals was amazing and even let me rappel before I started shooting.  I have to say, its pretty intense hanging backward off the roof, looking down too the street about 30 stories below.  The guys from Crux Climbing and Bouldering worked so hard making sure everyone made it safely down the wall.

The superhero’s participating in the event had to raise at least $1500 in order to rappel and many of them raised a heck of a lot more.  The most impressive to me were the people who are deathly afraid of heights but were facing their fears doing it anyway because they knew it was a small sacrifice for a great cause.

You can check out your rappel photos at the websites below:

You can order prints of the photo booth images and the rooftop images that I took from the gallery on my website: http://clients.crushphotography.ca/gallery/dropzone2011

Congrats to all the superhero’s who made it down the rope and thanks to the volunteers, Marisa and Brett who came out to help with the Photobooth!  I can’t wait for next year!

Here are a few of the shots from my rappel… photos taken by Russ Rasmussen.  Thanks Russ!
